Space is luxury on a commercial fishing vessel. Between the nets, the catch, and the crew, every square meter of the deck counts. This was the challenge facing a European commercial fishing company when they sought to upgrade the lifting equipment on their deep-sea trawler.

They needed a powerful solution to handle fishing nets and auxiliary boats in rough waters, but they couldn't afford to lose valuable deck space to bulky machinery.

Before making a decision, the client took a serious approach. Their technical director and procurement manager flew to China to visit the OUCO factory in person.

In the heavy industry sector, trust is paramount. During their visit, the European delegation didn’t just look at brochures; they walked the production floor. They inspected our welding seams, evaluated our painting processes, and watched our load tests in the FAT area.

Witnessing OUCO’s manufacturing standards and rigorous quality control first-hand was the turning point. Convinced that OUCO could meet their high European safety and quality standards, they placed an order for two units of the OUCO 3.5T10M Knuckle & Telescope Boom Crane.

The Perfect Fit: Power in a Compact Package

The solution we provided was tailored specifically for the constraints of a fishing vessel. We recommended the Knuckle & Telescope Boom design for a specific reason: versatility.

• Space-Saving: When not in use, the crane folds down into an incredibly compact size, leaving the deck clear for the crew to work.
• Extended Reach: When active, the telescopic boom extends to a 10-meter working radius, allowing the crew to lift 3.5 tons with precision, even in difficult-to-reach areas of the ship.
• Built for the Sea: Knowing the vessel would operate in harsh, salty conditions, we applied a C5M marine-standard coating system. This ensures the cranes remain rust-free and durable, even after years of exposure to saltwater and freezing winds.
